Today was the short-handed pot-limit holdem event with a $320 buy-in. There ended up being 1741 entrants creating a prizepool of over $500k. I dropped pretty quick from 2500 starting chips to 1500 and things weren't looking very good for this event. I chipped back up to about 1750 chips and then caught the nut straight on the turn which held over bottom set to double up to about 3500 chips. I worked up a bit more to 4400 but had two big back to back hands that didn't go my way. The first one I had TT which didn't hold agianst KQ and the very next hand I had AKo which fell to J9s and I busted around in about 850 place.
I was pretty happy with how I played overall but just didn't have a few big hands go my way which is all it takes. I'm leaving for the weekend to go golfing on Saturday morning but should be back in time for the WCOOP #18, the main event, on Sunday. I'd like to play in it but the $2600 buy-in is a pretty steep entry.
I've put in some good sessions at the cash games though and was up almost $1800 after busting out of the PLH tourney today. So while tournies aren't going that well for me the cash games are still going great. If I have another good day or two at them Thursday and Friday there's a good chance I'll play the main event on Sunday if I'm back from golf in time.
